Sabine Baring-Gould and Grace Taylor

This year is the centenary of Sabine Baring-Gould's death. He was an Anglican priest, and prolific writer. Remarkably, his list of published works is well over 1200.
I wrote the following poem for a national competition to mark the anniversary. It was ranked 'runner up'.
The Latin inscription, 'Dimidium Animae Meae', means 'half my soul'. Grace Taylor was his wife, and the words are still preserved on her headstone at Lewtrenchard Church.
